Member Monday: P&P on people, technology and growth

September 16, 2026

For the first edition of our new Member Monday series, we’re shining a spotlight on P&P Group, one of our travel agency group members. We explore the people-first culture behind the business, its commitment to outstanding service and how it is responding to the evolving needs of corporate and leisure travellers.

We spoke to Mat Cook, Managing Director at P&P, about what makes the business distinctive, changing expectations among travellers and how the Advantage Air Programme helps its teams deliver even more for clients.

Established in 1987, P&P has evolved into a widely recognised travel and technology business. Its portfolio spans leisure online, agency wholesaling, fulfilment and travel technology, serving both UK and international markets.

If there is one quality that sets P&P apart, it is kindness.

“We’re a genuinely kind, friendly bunch of people, and that translates into the high level of customer service we provide across all our brands,” says Mat.

It is a simple but important value in a sector where technology continues to transform how journeys are booked and managed. P&P is embracing that change while keeping personal service at the centre of the customer experience.

Starting the week with purpose

Mondays begin with team stand-ups to set priorities for the week ensuring client support is prioritised balanced with needing the business to keep moving. Mat keeps his afternoons free from recurring meetings where possible, leaving time for urgent issues, ad-hoc conversations and reviewing the previous week’s performance.

“My inbox provides reports from the previous day, and I think it’s important to respond promptly so conversations continue moving forward.”

Corporate travellers want simplicity and control

Asked what corporate travellers want today, Mat is clear: “Simplicity and cost control.”

Clients increasingly expect to manage the booking process themselves. “Our clients want self-booking for as much as possible – if not everything.”

Meeting that demand means combining intuitive technology with the right content, while retaining the expertise and service clients need when their requirements become more complex.

Air content that creates commercial opportunities

Through Advantage Travel Partnership, P&P can access a broad catalogue of air fares across its brands, including content it could struggle to negotiate independently.

“Access to such a comprehensive catalogue of fares matters enormously,” says Mat. “A lot of it is content we would likely struggle to negotiate on our own.”

For leisure customers, ITX fares provide another important benefit.

“They enable us to take a deposit rather than requiring full payment upfront. That is often the difference between converting a new enquiry and losing it.”

This flexibility strengthens P&P’s customer proposition and supports sales conversion. However, the company values more than fare choice.

“Nick, Kate and the wider Advantage Travel Partnership team have been brilliant,” says Mat. “They go the extra mile to understand what we need and ensure we have the content that serves us best. That expertise is invaluable.”

Advantage Travel Partnership's Business Development Manager - Business Travel, Kate Wye says “As a Business Development Manager at Advantage, I have the pleasure of supporting P&P Travel.

They are a fantastic company to work with – always receptive to new ideas, committed to growth and highly engaged with our organisation.

Together, we have secured some excellent airline deals, reviewed their accommodation programmes and introduced new supplier opportunities through Advantage.

Mat and the team are always happy to meet with us, review their proposition and learn from our discussions, helping them remain relevant and competitive as a business.”

Looking ahead

P&P aims to maintain strong but sustainable growth as it looks towards 2027. AI will be central to this ambition, through further adoption of external tools and continued development of the company’s own internal systems.

This reflects the balance at the heart of P&P: using technology to create a smarter, more efficient business while preserving the friendly, thoughtful service that makes it distinctive.
