Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement outlines the actions and activities undertaken during the financial year 2025/26 (1st October 2025 to 30th September 2026).
This statement reaffirms The Advantage Travel Partnership’s commitment to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our business activities and supply chains. It sets out our policies, responsibilities and approach to identifying and addressing these risks, together with the steps taken during the reporting period.
We are dedicated to conducting our business ethically and with integrity. We all have a duty to be vigilant, regardless of how small the risk may seem. Employees are expected to report any concerns, and management is responsible for acting on them.
Organisational Structure and Supply Chains
The Advantage Travel Partnership is a member-owned business network representing independently owned travel agents and travel management companies across the United Kingdom, with international network relationships supporting business travel.
Our members are independent businesses with responsibility for their own operations. We promote responsible business practices through our commercial relationships and engagement with members, recognising that our influence varies according to the relationship involved.
Our supply chain relationships include travel providers and businesses supporting our own operations. Travel services may involve intermediaries and local providers delivering accommodation, transport and destination services.
Our Policies
Policy Against Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking
We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. Our policy sets out the standards expected of our employees, directors and contractors. We expect suppliers and business partners to uphold these standards and promote them within their own operations and supply chains.
Corporate Social Responsibility Policy
Our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy supports our commitment to conducting business ethically and working responsibly with suppliers and communities. It complements our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chains.
Whistleblowing Mechanism
Our whistleblowing mechanism enables employees, suppliers and other stakeholders to report suspicions of modern slavery, human trafficking or sexual exploitation anonymously and without fear of reprisal.
Concerns can be raised with the People Team or through our whistleblowing arrangements. Our strengthened Whistleblowing and Bullying and Harassment policies also support the reporting of sexual harassment, including conduct by customers, suppliers and other third parties.
Our Actions and Commitments
Assessing and Managing Risk
We recognise that modern slavery and human trafficking risks can arise within travel and hospitality supply chains, including accommodation, transport and outsourced services. We are committed to developing our understanding of these risks in proportion to our business activities and commercial relationships, recognising that our ability to assess and influence suppliers varies across the network.
Supplier Due Diligence and Engagement
We conduct due diligence when considering new suppliers and review existing relationships, taking account of the nature of the services provided and the risks involved. This includes considering suppliers’ policies, practices and compliance with relevant modern slavery legislation.
We communicate our expectations regarding ethical conduct and work collaboratively with suppliers to address identified concerns. Where appropriate, we seek further information about their arrangements, including the steps taken to prevent exploitation within subcontracted services and their wider supply chains.
Reporting and Responding to Concerns
We recognise that travel and accommodation services can be misused to facilitate trafficking and exploitation. We encourage concerns connected with our business to be reported, including those arising during business travel, familiarisation trips, supplier visits and industry events.
We take concerns seriously and handle them sensitively, with appropriate regard for confidentiality and the safety of those affected. Where necessary, our response may include engagement with suppliers, relevant authorities or specialist organisations.
Where exploitation is identified, we are committed to supporting appropriate corrective action. Decisions about continuing a supplier relationship will take account of the seriousness of the concern, the supplier’s response and the potential impact on affected workers.
Training and Awareness
We provide regular employee training to raise awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking, including the signs of exploitation and how to report concerns. We are committed to developing awareness in a way that reflects employees’ roles and the risks associated with our business and industry.
Monitoring and Effectiveness
We are committed to reviewing the effectiveness of our approach through supplier engagement, employee awareness and consideration of concerns raised. This includes considering whether identified issues have been addressed and where further improvements are needed.
Continuous Improvement
We are committed to improving our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. We will use learning from supplier engagement, concerns raised and relevant industry guidance to inform the development of our policies, awareness and due diligence arrangements.
